Ballet

Even though Ballet is one of the strictest disciplines our aim is to encourage the children's deportment, understanding of muscle groups, the relevance of each excersice and the importance that this discipline has on all other subjects. We feel that Ballet is the basis of all dancing subjects and it is important to make it fun and interesting. All of our pupils follow the syllabus by the N.A.T.D and take exams from Class Ballet right through to Professional, along with Medal Tests.

 

Tap

We follow the N.A.T.D syllabus of Stage Branch Tap. The Pupils can take exams from Class Tap to Professional and Medal Tests.

 

Modern Jazz

Modern dance is a mixture of dance that will take you from the dramatic Evita to the west end stage. For example dances incorporating the Charlston, high kick routine and Grease, plus modern chart music.

 

Street Jazz

A modern, fun and fast style of dancing which is an extra subject for most pupils. This discipline is a favourite with most pupils because of the freedom of style that it allows. These classes are always very energetic and the dancing is performed to modern music. An excellent work out.

 

Musical Theatre – Dance/ Drama & Singing

From musicals to hip hop, stagecraft and performing. We will be doing our own version of the X-factor and 2-part harmony singing. Forming our own Pop Group and creating our own pop videos, learning how to sing as part of a group as well as solo artists. In addition, we will be teaching the correct vocal exercises, breathing techniques and how to read sheet music.

 

Tots Dance

A fun way for the younger children to exercise and to teach them the first steps of Ballet. From Musical Interpretation to The Teddy Bears Picnic. Youngsters love this imaginative class which encourages self expression.

 

Aerobics

You can do this class either high or low intensity!
Benefits of doing this class are that it conditions the heart and lungs, controls body fat, increased resistance of fatigue and gives you extra energy, tones muscles and increases lean body mass and general stamina, decrease tension and aid in sleeping.  Regular exercise improves your mood, reduces depression and anxiety.

Pilates

A gentle exercise to stretch tone and condition the muscles for a more supple body.  This class will improve your posture and flexibility; tone your muscle giving you a better shape.  Concentrating on Alignment, breathing, centring and stabilisation to develop core stability.

Burlesque

This Discipline is gaining popularity, not only because it is great fun and good at building confidence, but it is also a good form of exercise to strengthen, improve posture and increase flexibility. Burlesque does not equal strip, in fact a good burlesque dancer may only remove a glove.  Burlesque is a cheeky seduction for ladies who at any age, shape or size want to learn to feel comfortable in their own skin and add sparkle to their lives. Please wear comfortable clothes.
